The Hose Reel Backing Board provides the perfect solution for mounting either your new Classic or Evolve Hose Reel onto siding. 

To avoid damaging the bracket and to make sure the bracket is mounted securely to hold the weight of the reel, it needs to be installed on a flat surface. Siding has always presented an issue in this regard. Being by its very nature, not flat. 
That issue is now a thing of the past. The Hose Reel Backing will act as the flat surface for the bracket.

The Backing Board itself is first mounted to a framing stud behind the siding. The Hose Reel Bracket is then mounted directly to the Backing Board, providing a secure and flat mounting point for your reel.
